November Memories

Life has gotten ahead of us again, but I wanted to post a few pictures from the past month.  The first week of November marked our 1 year anniversary in Ohio!  We celebrated by putting slips of paper in these balloons that told of things we are thankful for that wouldn't have been a part of our life if we hadn't moved.  We had a popping party, and though I hate the sound of popping balloons :-), I loved praising the Lord for the blessings of this wonderful year!

More wonderful memories at Pioneer Village.  The kids got asked to help with a special event for a history group.  The helped make a meal pioneer style, including roasting a chicken over the fire with fresh herbs and making pumpkin pies from scratch.  I can't say that I have ever done either of those things!!!

We had Young Women in Excellence in November.  It was a big event for me as the Personal Progress adviser in our ward.  This picture captures one of the most touching memories of the year for me--Ally Clawson invited the girls and leaders to wear mismatched shoes as a way to say thanks to me (I'm the one with matching shoes:-)).  It was a reference to a lesson I gave the Young Women in February about a very significant turning point in my life when my shes didn't match.  It meant so much to me that they actually listened and remembered! :-)  We have such awesome YW in our ward and I am so glad to work with them!

Grandma and Grandpa Layton came from Arizona to visit for 10 days at the end of November.  It passed too quickly!!!  We got to have Thanksgiving together, visit Kirtland, do some projects around the house, learn to make Grandma's special candy, and get spoiled. It was such a wonderful time!

We have so much to be Thankful for!!!!
