Fun Memories of Palmyra

We found this awesome toad on the hike up Cumorah.  He was the biggest we found on the trip and Brett was excited to catch him.  When he held caught him, the toad peed on him and jumped away.  We all laughed and Brett passionately said--as only a 2-year-old can--"He needs to go pee-pee in the potty!"

As we pulled into the parking lot at the Hill Cumorah, Brett was looking at an illustrated map of the area and all the sites.  Brett announced that the map said that "Brookie needs to go to this church and find a prince."  We took the challenge seriously.  No luck though.  Good thing she still has a lot of years to look for him!

This trip was especially meaningful for Todd, who served as a young missionary in Up-state New York.  He has a picture in front of these scriptures with his companion the first time he visited Cumorah back in 1994/1995.  He really wanted a picture of us together, so he could have a picture by it "with my real companion."  Loved it.

The llama with the Bryce-haircut.

In the Smith log house where Moroni appeared to Joseph.

Lots of frogs and toads!!!!!!

I love this picture at the Temple grounds!

We found the first apartment Todd lived in as a missionary in 1993 in Buffalo, NY.  This is where he saw it snow for the first time.

The Whitmer Farm where the first meeting of the Church was held in this dispensation.  They have a short musical video at the new visitor's center here showing how the Church has grown since that first meeting.  Very powerful.

The Niagara Falls hair style!

Niagara Falls--before,

during,

and after.  We did hike up the side of the falls.  That's where the major soaking happened.

We went to an outdoor concert of the Cleveland orchestra while on this trip.  We got to see a fireworks display that was spectacular.  It was so close you could feel every "BOOM."

The End.  No one makes beautiful endings like God does!
