One of the best parts of HOME is that there are people to model life for you. It has been so much fun to see our little guy model the behaviors and sounds of the big people in his life. He is very intent on watching us and figuring things out. Among other things, he loves to play with the steering wheel and turn it back and forth just like his big brother does. Recently Brett started saying, "Oh wow!" We all love it....it never gets old. The other day on the way home from school I pointed out a neat view of the valley to Brenden, to which he replied, "Oh wow!" It was the exact inflection that Brett uses when he says it! I laughed out loud and asked Brenden if he had heard himself. Until that moment I didn't know where Brett had learned that phrase, and Brenden didn't either. Brett had picked it up without us even taking notice of it. It is sobering to have a little sponge crawling around taking notice of everything we do and say. So many traditions and family habits get formed and perpetuated this way. It's a great reminder that the little things we do and say get noticed and are the threads that make up family life. Make yours worth the accolade "Oh wow!"
